Here are some of the frequently asked questions we've received about our new training program format, along with some answers:
Q: This new format is really different. Is it going to work for me?
A: With training options every day of the week, our Running Plus calendar is designed to offer more options in more locations, making it easier for everyone to participate. Our schedule was designed with the goal of offering a training format that can work for any ability level and has the flexibility to fit in any schedule. And you can now sign up and start participating whenever you want.
Q: Can I try it first?
A: Yes you can. We offer a three free session registration option that allows you to attend any three of our classes within a month. This way, you get to experience what it is like to train with us before making a bigger commitment.
Q: Will you still have half and full marathon training groups?
A: Yes we will. You can register for our spring marathon program now. In order to participate, you will just have to have an active Running Plus membership and sign up for the group you wish to participate in. Our coaches will tell you which workouts to attend, send you the weekly group email and help guide your training, the same as we’ve done in the past.
Q: What if I want to train for a 5K?
A: While we no longer have a Personal Best 5K program, we still have the equivalent workouts in our Running Plus calendar. And in addition to the speed work, a Running Plus membership also gets you access to other components to aid in your 5K training, such as longer runs and functional fitness workouts. Our same great coaches will still be out there at all workouts to help provide guidance and advice in structuring your training.
Q: Do I need to register online for each class I want to attend?
A: Yes. It helps us for planning purposes to know how many people to expect for each workout. Additionally, some of our classes do have size limits, especially during the winter.
Q: Will Fleet Feet still offer free running options?
A: Yes! This winter season, join us on Sunday mornings to run with a group of winter warriors. There are a variety of routes to choose from, ranging from 3 miles up to 12. All paces are welcome! Runs begin at 8:00am from the DeWitt store.
