| STC pops the cork on a new running year at 10:07AM New Years Day |

The Syracuse Track Club kicks off the New Year with this low key and fun event. Last year, club member Richard Brown ran the race in a kilt or was that a skirt? Anyway, this is a prediction run in which you predict the time it will take you to complete the course. Usually this is not easy, but when you add the fact that nobody really knows what distance is being run (Jerry Smith knows give or take 800 meters) and you can't look at your watch, this is really becomes a guessing game. After the run, all are invited in to the Spaghetti Warehouse for chili, pasta, bread and beer. There is no advance registration, just show up on New Years morning anytime after 9AM. The event is free to all current STC members and to those who join the club or renew their membership that day. Otherwise, it's $10 for everyone else. Such a deal!
