Tipperary Hill Shamrock Run

The 8th Annual Shamrock Run is an iconic run which showcases the historic Tipperary Hill neighborhood and bringing runners past many of Tipp Hill’s favorite landmarks.  Last year nearly 3,000 participants crossed the finish line.

This year’s event will be held on Saturday March 2 at 11AM with a Fun Run starting at 10AM. The 4-mile course is also the kick off to the 2013 Syrathon Event Series.

Get your race bib early on Thursday February 28 at Fleet Feet Sports from 3-7PM. While you’re here, check out all the green clothes and accessories that you can cross the finish line in.

This year the Shamrock Run welcomes Major Michael Erwin as the event’s Grand Marshal. Mike and his family grew up in Tipp Hill at Burnet Park Golf Course. Mike and his siblings spent every summer of their young lives playing Golf at Burnet Park. Mike graduated from CBA in 1988 and graduated from West Point in 2002. He received a commission into the Military Intelligence branch and was stationed in Fort Hood, TX. Mike was deployed to Iraq in 2004 with the First Cavalry Division. He was deployed to southern Afghanistan twice with the 3rd Special Forces Group. In 2010, after returning from Afghanistan, he earned a degree in Psychology at the University of Michigan. While in Michigan, Mike founded Team RWB. Mike is currently stationed at West Point, NY and serves as an instructor. Mike and his wife Genevieve have two children, Eli and Adelaide. The Tipp Hill neighborhood association is excited to have Major Michael Erwin as the Grand Marshal this year.
