The spring, summer and fall race calendar in Central New York is always jam-packed! With so many great events happening locally, it can sometimes be hard to decide what to do. That's why we've asked Central New York race directors and organizers to tell us "Why Their Race Rocks!" We want to know what about their event sets them apart? What's new? Different? Unique? Special? Fun?

CNY Orchard Run

Why does your race ROCK? All runners receive a Free breakfast from Beak & Skiff and those over 21 get a free drink from 1911 and a coupon to Lune Chocola. We also have a kids run
27th Annual Veterans Memorial Day 5K Run

Why does your race ROCK? You can't beat the price: $10 pre-registration fee; the atmosphere: 10,000 parade spectators; the setting: beautiful Erie Canal Park with the course along the historic Erie Canal on the route of the 1996 Olympic torch; and the post-race refreshments: drinks, donuts, muffins and bagels. All this and be home by 11 a.m.
Marcellus Olde Home Days 5K

Why does your race ROCK? Olde Home Days is a fantastic annual event celebrating the small-town charm of Marcellus. The only thing missing was a 5k race to celebrate the rich running tradition that has become a part of this community. Olde Home Days 5k is here to fill that void. The race will wind through the quaint village of Marcellus, through the serenely beautiful park paths to the finish. The beneficiaries of this event are the youth of Marcellus and surrounding areas who will become part of that tradition of elite runners. We hope to see you at our inaugural event- come out for a beautiful run through Marcellus and support a great youth running program!

The 10th Annual Maureen T O'Hara Teal There's a Cure 5K

Why does your race ROCK? Teal There's a Cure is an amazing way to start your 4th of July! It is a beautiful early morning certified 5K run through Marcellus. There are awesome goodies afterwards, including Gannon's Ice Cream. Bring along some extra cash to take a chance on wonderful raffle prizes and a 50-50. Most importantly, the funds from this race support research efforts toward early diagnosis and treatment of Ovarian Cancer as well as support women in our own community who are being treated for Ovarian Cancer. Come join us!!
Running with the Elks

Why does your race ROCK? Running with the Elks rocks because of its unique scenic route along the Seneca River and finishes at the Liverpool Elks lodge on a Friday night. The course is flat and fast. Each entry over 21 receives a beer. Not only is there a run but also a Fun Walk, featuring entertaining activities along the way. The after-race party will be held at the Liverpool Elks with music and food for purchase. All proceeds go to Honor Flight Syracuse with the goal of sponsoring veterans to visit THEIR memorials in Washington DC.

Why does your race ROCK? Enjoy the small-town atmosphere in this fast and flat 5K in downtown Moravia. The 5K course meanders through the village and surrounding rural area and supports the local Four town Ambulance and first Aid Squad.
CNY Tour de Cure

Why does your race ROCK? The CNY Tour de Cure is an event where the entire Central NY community can come to together as one in the fight to stop diabetes and to celebrate all those living with diabetes everyday; the real Superheroes!
4th Annual Backpack Run 5k/10k

2018Eastwood 5 Mile Run

Why does your race ROCK? The Eastwood 5 Mile run rocks simply because of our course and distance! A unique 5 mile course winds past the parks of Syracuse’s Eastwood area. It’s the perfect training course for the Mountain Goat run with half the distance and half the hills. The race finishes with a super fast downhill sprint to the finish line. There is no other race like it and you will never have a more satisfying finish line experience!
The Burn Run

Why does your race ROCK? Aim for your personal best times on our 5k, 10k, or both, back to back, with firefighters running in full gear, on a fast and fun course that starts and ends at East Syracuse Fire Department Station #2, all to benefit the Burn Foundation of CNY!
